Kevin Cady
Division Chief,

Mr. Cady became Division Chief of the
Communication & Education Division in 2006. In this capacity he is
responsible for overseeing staff within the Division to include the
Trident program, the “M” Department website, and publications such as
Safety Lines, and Sector.
He is a graduate of the State
University of New York with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human
Resources Management, and Associate of Science in Criminal Justice.
After spending five seasons as a trainer with the Philadelphia Flyers of
the NHL, Mr. Cady chose a career path in public safety in Portland,
Maine. He has served for twenty years as a police officer and his law
enforcement assignments included mounted unit, field training officer,
detective, detective sergeant, FBI Joint Terrorist Task Force member,
and shift commander. Mr. Cady served as the site commander for several
Presidential visits including 2002 when President G. W. Bush commended
the U.S. Coast Guard for outstanding service during the 9-11 operational
period in Portland, Maine. He also has served with the U.S. Customs
Service as an LDCI Inspector where he was assigned to a regional
maritime contraband enforcement team. Mr. Cady currently works as a Fire
Fighter / Investigator for the Portland, Maine Fire Department, is a
reserve police officer and special deputy US marshal. He is assigned as
an Auxiliarist to the Coast Guard’s Sector Northern New England in the
Planning Department assisting with contingency planning and intelligence
support activities.
Mr. Cady joined the U.S. Coast Guard
Auxiliary in 2003 and has been a Flotilla Staff Officer-Marine Safety,
Division Staff Officer-Marine Safety, Branch Assistant-Marine Safety,
Branch Chief-Marine Safety Operations, and Flotilla Vice Commander in
1NR21.
Personal Auxiliary awards include the
Auxiliary Medal of Operational Merit, Auxiliary Achievement Medal, four
Coast Guard Meritorious Team Commendations with operational device
authorized, and the Auxiliary Sustained Service Award. Mr. Cady was one
of the first members to be awarded the Auxiliary Marine Safety Trident
device in New England (temporary entitlement).
Mr. Cady received an Honorable
Discharge from the U.S. Coast Guard in 1981.
He resides in Falmouth, Maine, is
married to the former Heather Sargent of Andover, Massachusetts, and has
two school age boys. |
Kim Cole

Ms. Cole joined
the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary in September of 2000 and was
appointed to the newly developed position of Branch Chief-REC
(Regional Exam Centers) in May of 2006. This position is developed
to provide guidance and assistance to the REC-Coordinators in the
different Districts.
Ms. Cole has held
several flotilla staff office positions such as FSO-CC, FSO-MS and
FSO-PB. At the Division level she has held the staff positions of
SO-CC and SO-MS. Currently Ms. Cole is the District Staff Officer
for Marine Safety and Environmental Protection in 9th
Central. Ms. Cole is also a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy
Admissions Partners Program.
Ms. Cole has
completed training in the areas of Seamanship, Instructor,
Communications Specialist, Weather Specialist, ICS 100, 200, 700,
800 and the IS-005 Hazardous Materials (FEMA). She also has
completed the Goodmate program, Introduction to Marine Safety and
Environmental Protection, Patrols Specialist, AUX-03 Recruiting
Accessions Course and Administrative Procedure’s course. She
currently holds qualifications as Crew and Instructor. Ms. Cole
also is a strong supporter of the SeaPartners program and has spoken
with approx. 4000 children plus their families in the past three
years on the importance of protecting the environment and water
safety.
In January of
2005 Ms. Cole was awarded the Elton R. Lynch Memorial Award (a local
Division award) in regards to her work with Environmental
Protection. She also has received the Auxiliary Sustained Service
Award and the Auxiliary Membership Service Award.
Ms. Cole is
married to Mark Cole (also with the Auxiliary) and they have a
daughter Ginean, a son Chad (who is a Sgt. in the U.S. Marines), a
daughter-in-law Kym and 5 very special grandchildren.

Bill Carney

Mr. Carney joined
the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary in 1999. He became Branch Assistant
Facility Safety and Security in 2006 and works to
promote Auxiliary support of Facility Safety and Security
Inspections.
Mr. Carney is a
former U.S. Marine who worked for Con Edison Inc in NYC as an
Emergency Operations General Supervisor until his retirement in
1997.
Bill is a
snowbird who splits his time between Hallandale FL and Wallingford
CT.
Presently Mr.
Carney works with the bull pen units at the MSO Prevention in
Station FT Lauderdale FL, and with the MSO Prevention for Sector
Long Island Sound in New Haven CT. Bill is working on his Pollution,
Harbor Safety and Facility qualifications at both units. He has
served as SO CS and FSO CS in Division 3 D7.
Bill is married
to the former Maureen Murray of Brooklyn NY and they have three
married daughters and four grandchildren.
Awards include
the Auxiliary Commendation Award, two ALOC one with operational
device, CG Meritorious Team Commendation with Operational device,
and multiple Auxiliary Sustained Service Awards.
